![]() | Wind PowerMost homes in the northeast are on-grid and although we advocate getting off the grid, it would be wasteful to go off-grid with wind power alone. Wind power can be stored on-grid by selling back to your utility company (net metering), and used as you need it. The utility becomes your "battery bank", eliminating the need to purchase and maintain a battery bank. This cuts cost significantly. However, being grid connected has a disadvantage. When they black out, so do you. We recommend that if you stay on-grid, that you purchase a generator for backup and eliminate the problem altogether. Battery systems are recommended for backup power; particularly if blackouts create an in-home emergency. |
| Hybrid SystemThey are the way to go, period. Wind doesn't blow all the time nor does the sun shine all the time. Fall through spring is a windy time of year and the angle of the sun is lowest in winter. Ther reverse is true for solar spring through fall. Hybrid systems are all yin and yang. Having one enables the maximum energy reaping and enables the owners to downsize wind turbines and Photovoltaic arrays respectively, because both are on task. Exceptions must be noted. Make sure you evalueate your wind resource carefully. It's tricky, so let us help. |
We believe that no system should be installed unless all the factors are considered. This provides you with an exact fit for the least expensive and most energy efficient system possible. We can help you find the incentives and financing. Call or email us to discuss wind power or a hybrid system for your home or business. It's free and up-front. Beware of one-size-fits-all quotes. We'll send a licensed contractor for an up-front, on-site analysis.
